Elliot B. Lyman was a prominent school committee member. His retirement in 1956 was a big loss to our schools.

He retired due to his health but was hoping to return to the service of the community to which he was devoted.

He gave eight years of devoted and efficient service to the best interest of our school children.

He worked continually and untiringly for improved facilities and cooperated fully with the Building Committee in the construction of additions to the Elementary Schools, and the building of the High school.

Unfortunately, his retirement was short-lived as he passed away shortly after, on May 6th, 1957.

The Library within the High School was dedicated to him shortly after in 1968.
