Why Does My Child Receive ESL Services?
Posted by Margaret Dyer on 10/18/2019Students whose home language surveys indicate another langauge is used in the home, are screened when they enter South Hadley Public Schools with the WIDA Screener (1-12) or the WIDA MODEL (K).
If they qualfiy for ESL services they are then placed in a general education classroom with a teacher who has the Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement and they also receive pull out services for English Language development and support.
