Hello, sixth grade!
As we navigate this strange time, I will be posting activities to help challenge your reading, writing, and thinking skills on my Google Classroom! Please refer to this page for daily updates.
Monday = Mystery Monday (I will post a mystery for you to solve! Answers will be revealed on Wednesday so people have a chance to solve them!)
Tuesday = Technology Tuesday (I will introduce you to a new game or website! Nothing to turn in!)
Wednesday = WITTD Wednesday (I will post a creative writing prompt, either for a story, a poem, or some other sort of creative writing to activate your imagination)
Thursday = Think About It Thursday (I will post a persuasive prompt where you will express your opinion or stance on a certain topic and back it up!)
Friday = Feel Good Friday (I will post something fun to make you smile or laugh! Nothing to turn in!)

Welcome to sixth grade!
This year, we will be exploring many important topics such as “facing fear” and “dealing with disaster” while reading some excellent stories and articles. Over the course of the year, students will have the chance to write fiction pieces, personal narratives, informational articles, persuasive essays, and poetry. And through it all, we will spark our curiosity, imaginations, and senses of humor.
Our goal as a class is not limited to developing our reading and writing skills, but also includes acquiring the personal skills to become independent and responsible learners. We will be focusing on study strategies, organization, and self-regulation.
I am very excited to be working with you this year to provide a meaningful and exciting school year for our sixth graders.
