• Hello Students!

     The assignment this week (April 27-May 1) is about One's Personal Connection to the Group’s Influence During Coronavirus.  The assignment entails completing* the following 5-7 items below. 

     

    *Do Not share with me or submit this work to me yet.  It should be prepared, ready, and on-hand for the Google Meet virtual class on May 7, 2020.

    *Note that you will complete 5-7 items, depending on class level and interest in an OPTIONAL assignment. 

     

    1.  Review Classmates’ Reflections posted on Class Google Doc from April 20-24.

     

    2. Watch Ms. Goelz’s 5 minute video lesson on Anomie & the Group's importance linked to Youtube HERE (live link).

     

    3. Read the following articles assigned according to class level & Complete a S-I-T Analysis for ONE article (directions for S-I-T Analysis below articles).

     

     

     

    S-I-T Analyis Directions:

    HONORS Level: Complete an S-I-T Response Paragraph (write response to include TWO categories of Surprising, Interesting, Troubling.  So, for example, I’m choosing to write about something within the article that is Surprising AND something within the article that is Interesting,. Don’t forget to discuss in your paragraph WHY these things are particularly S-I-T.)

    CP Level:Complete an S-I-T Response Paragraph (you only need to write ONE response to something that is EITHER Surprising, Interesting, or Troubling.  Don’t forget to discuss in your paragraph WHY something is particularly S-I-T.)

     

    4. Take a 45 minute walk & listen to the segment** of The Intercept's Youtube video The Mental Health Dimensions of the Coronavirus Pandemic and Isolation Measures, with Andrew Solomon and Johann Hari.  **Listen to ONLY the segment 0:00-41:08.  

     

    5. (HONORS ONLY) Complete a S-I-T Analysis for The Intercept's Video segment (live link).

    S-I-T Analyis Directions:

    6. Interact** with others in your Primary or Secondary Group who feed your soul for at least 30 minutes.  Interpret “interact” as appropriate to you, your family, and CDC guidelines.

    **Maybe this is a physical distancing walk or a Zoom-style meeting, or whatever is appropriate to you.

     

    7. (OPTIONAL) Read the artilce  Howling at the Moon (live link).
