    Hello Students and Families,

During our time apart, it is important to keep learning and working those brains! Routine and consistency will help you to stay on track.

Students: I hope that you have been working on your packet each day as well as doing lots of reading! Maybe you have been creating projects, playing games, getting outside for fresh air, exercising, and also relaxing.

Care Takers: Teachers use the term 'summer slide' because each fall, predictably, we see many students coming in at a slightly lower instructional level than when they left at the beginning of summer. Additionally, even the regularly scheduled breaks will often show a very small dip when data is collected. This is why it is imperative to keep some type of learning happening consistently during this time away from school, especially reading!!

You can find some great information right here throughout this website. Under teacher tabs find:  'Math Intervention' and you will see some great content for each unit of second grade math. Please spend some time each day reviewing the concepts in units 1-5. Feel free to explore units 6 and 7 but know that we have not covered that content in class. Also, Ms. Kotfila has some great reading resources for all levels and I encourage you to explore her page as well.

If you are on Facebook you can send a friend request to Jeff LaPlante (Mr. LaPlante) as he is posting some helpful lessons daily!

Youtube also has some great videos of second grade content and if I find some of particular use I will share. Parents should prescreen them before using/having students watch.

If you find some particularly helpful videos or resources please let me know and I will add them here to the bottom of this page. Check back often for updates!

Please email me with any questions! If you have not been recieving my emails thus far during this break please reach out immediately as I may not have the correct email address for you. My email is jfellows@shschools.com

I have heard back from many families with interest in a conference call style "meeting" to get together virtually so that students can check in, talk and connect. I will update shortly with when and how this will take place. If any student would like to schedule a time to meet with me one on one we can certainly make that happen through many of the avialalbe platforms such as skype.

I would love to hear from you about what you've been working on and doing!

    I miss you!

    Love,

    Ms. Fellows
