      The clarinet can be quite confusing to assemble correctly.

      Watch this video to gain a better perspective on this process. 

      I really like how he explains the importance of cork grease and the need for using small twists when connecting the upper & lower joints.

      How to make a sound (Lesson 3)

       It's really important that you're able to get a sound on just the mouthpiece and barrel.  This will confirm that your reed is attached to the mouthpiece correctly and your lip muscles are formed properly. 

      Watch this 3 min video that explains what it should sound like if you blow into just the 2 top pieces of the clarinet.
