FLUTE (2b)
Getting a sound from the headjoint is the MOST important thing a beginning student will accomplish these 1st days. I really liked this how this teacher explains the process. This video is almost 9 minutes long but she shared OUTSTANDING ideas for children to think about.
Remember... this is not supposed to easy. It will take some patience to learn this new skill. If you watch several videos you'll gain insight into this important 1st step of playing the flute!

FLUTE (2c)
I really love how this teacher uses Call & Response to help students develop their sound! Take your time and follow along with this process.
WARNING!!!!
Most children will need to work on this for several sessions before they start feeling confident making quality sounds on the headjoint! Please don't think you'll just watch the video and try these exercises for the 1st time and be perfect. It took me a solid 3 days before I felt comfortable getting a good sound on the headjoint. I believe children should participate with this video for several days BEFORE they start the next section & try to put the instrument together.

Flute (2d)
This video demonstrates the same concepts as video (2c) but with a slightly different approach. Young students often will find that the same directions have a different meanning when demonstrated by different adults.
