Computer Science using Scratch and MIT App Inventor
The 8th grade will continue to work with Scratch and students will be introduced to MIT APP Inventor.
With Scratch, students can program their own interactive stories, games, and animations — and share their creations with others in the online community.
Scratch helps students learn to think creatively, reason systematically, and work collaboratively — essential skills for life in the 21st century.

- MIT App Inventor: is an intuitive, visual programming environment that allows everyone – even children – to build fully functional apps for smartphones and tablets. Those new to MIT App Inventor can have a simple first app up and running in less than 30 minutes. And what's more, our blocks-based tool facilitates the creation of complex, high-impact apps in significantly less time than traditional programming environments.
