Parenting Tips Activity

  • Prompt: Roughly 9 in 10 people your age will eventually raise a child.  With that in mind, how will you best parent a child in order to complement their natural social and emotional development?  Your goal is to come up with a plan in order to guide your future-self as a parent.  

     

    Assessment Grade for the 2nd Quarter (~ 16 points)

     

    Product: “Guide to Effective Parenting: 4 Tips for Parents on How to Best to Complement Your Child’s Social and Emotional Growth” (Handwritten submissions are likely)

     

    Criteria for Success:

    1. 4 “Tips” for Parents on How Best to Complement Your Child’s Social and Emotional Growth.

    2. Each “Tip” should be written as a single-sentence phrase. (1 point)

    3. Each “Tip” should include a written paragraph explaining why you should practice these tips AND include the connection to the Developmental Psychology concept/term. Underline the concept/term. (3 points)

    Example: Take Charge!  Now write an explanation that includes the developmental psychology concept that supports this Tip.

    1. Read Module 11, text pages 204-209.

    **At the conclusion of this activity, you will share your Tips with another student.
