• PARENT/STUDENT RIGHTS

    When IDEA 2004 was signed into law, Massachusetts Department of Education issued the following document to inform parents and students of their rights under special education law (http://www.doe.mass.edu/sped/parents.html).  This site will also provide you with this document in a variety of languages.

     

    State and federal laws and regulations govern special education entitlements and practice. The most recent federal regulations associated with IDEA 2004 were published August 14, 2006 and were put into place during 2006-2007.
