    I hope to have assignments updated in power school soon.  Midterms were due today on pass/fail.  Please check power school and see what is posted as collected.  Make sure all your work is labeled.  Late work is slowing me down, and when it has no labeled to what it is, I have to hunting to find out where to post the corrected grade.

    I hope you have enjoyed Dr. B's performance of cells.  Please go to power school and check the postings.  A lot of assignments are missing from students.  Go to Google classroom and watch the slides.  Send you assignments to me by email now if they are late.  Not back into Google Classroom( the assignment is closed for the marking of grade in Google Classroom, it now has to be done by hand as an override). Make sure all the assignments are labeled with a heading and the assignment name.  Many students are just sending one part of the assignment.  Many lessons have 3 parts to the assignment.   So don't forget to make sure you have submitted all the parts to the assignment.

    On another note, once the due date has gone by, you must submit to me by email.

    Many of you kept your book and notes from last year, go to last years notes if you have them.

    Make sure you send it in my email or in Google Doc,  labeled with your name, lesson assignment,  neat and if you could please send the whole assignments together.  I will email you back letting you know I received the assignment. 

    Please check power school and make sure the posting of turned in assignments is correct.  If not email me and send me another copy of the assignments.  As stated before, a lot of emails were missing the assignment in the attachments.

    You have been doing a great job.  I am trying to post assignments turned in to power school.  If you have sent an assignment to me an it is not posted as collected in power school, Please email me about this matter.  Maybe it went to outer space.

    I hope everyone is  enjoying the sunny weather we have had the pass couple of days and staying safe.  Spring is in the air! I know I am ready for some sunny, and warm air.

    As you open up Google Classroom, we will be studying Astronomy!!!

    We have broken Astronomy into two parts.  The first is the planets and the famous ORQ's.

    Take you time reading the slides and enjoy the speaker of the slides.

    All of the information you had in 6th grade Science.  This just a review of the Space standards.

    As I stated the other day, you can send your work in Google doc. just let me know you sent it.  Make sure you label the doc. or your photo to me You can label it the paper slide 55 Questions, slide 56 Questions, slide 57 Question and take notes  All assignments are due April 27, 2020.

    Please email Dr.B or I with any problems you may have.  Trust me, we had our fair share of tech troubles this past week working on the lesson for this week.

    1.  Watch the slide show.  You can play the video slides as many times as you want. 

    2.  Read the pages of the theme.  Take notes.  Send me a copy of your notes, you may put all your work in Google Doc.but share it with me, just email me to let me know it is in the doc. folder.

    3.  Ques. 1-15, 18-21 and 24-25 that are on slide 24.  you can take a photo send it to me or put in Google doc and share with me, but again email me to let me know it is in this folder.

    Good Morning, You Wonderful Kids!  April 13,2020

     

    Welcome to Distance Learning 101, the class where, technologically speaking, most of you are already ahead of the teacher!

     

    Now this is Dr B talking because Ms Bach are trying to make sure that all classes receive exactly the same information during this confusing period!  If ANYTHING is EVER unclear -TOUCH BASE!

     

    As you have heard, each week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, Ms Bach and I are going to produce 75 minute lessons for you to continue your Science education work at home during the quarantine.  We are working to provide you with active 40 minute lessons followed by 35 minutes of independent work for you to accomplish on your own on each day.

     

    We are going to be presenting the SAME material to BOTH Ms Bach’s and Dr B’s classes. 

     

    I guess that puts all of us on the same Quadrant.  HA HA HA HA – Sorry! Dad Joke. – Force of Habit.

     

    As you may guess, our classes are not in perfect synchronization.  So these first lessons will be partially review for some students.  Some of the work, however, will be new to everyone. 

     

    All of the work is mounted in the Google Classroom to which each and every one of you has been invited. 

     

    Again I remind you , if you have NOT gotten an invitation to join the classroom, NOTIFY ME, DR B, IMMEDIATELY.  The system spit your email out for some reason, and I simply have to delete you from the classroom and re-invite you.  Easy-Easy!

     

    Our intention is to provide links to the work (Our Google Classroom) on the new academic platform that you have all been introduced to AND on both of our sites.  If ANYTHING is ever unclear, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE contact Ms Bach or me by email, and we will do everything we can to help you out.  Ms Bach and I are determined to be available by email as often as possible during the week.

     

    Right now we are hoping that the only materials that you will need for our work are a computer, a printer, paper, and pencils.  If we think you may need graph paper, we will put a template of a graph page on one of our websites.

     

    Now although we are going to merge the assignments, if you have work to turn in, turn it in to your assigned teacher: my students turn it in to me, and Ms Bach’s, to her.

     

    This week – April 13, 2020 – We have two micro-units on topics with which many of you are already familiar:  Mapping and Geologic Time.

     

    Here’s hoping that we get back together IN PERSON before the end of the school year.

    Dr. B and I are posting activities together on Google classroom.  Everyone should have received an email from Dr. B about the account.  The " Legends of Learning"  has some great activity games you play in the incoming weeks.

    Please go online and take a look at ch.1 sec.4 and read this section.  You might want to do a divided page vocabulary from the vocabulary section, or flash cards.  You haven't seen these words in a long time.

    The next goal is Ch.4. Keep checking your email, Google classroom from Dr. B or I about the upcoming activities.

    I hope everyone is doing good this week.    I have open the porthole of the science books for everyone.  If the link is not working, please let me know.

    I have made list of activities you can do while we are waiting to return to work.  The activities are for you only, no grade on any of the suggest activities or readings.

    As everyone knows, I gave out hard packet copies of Earth's Surface Friday.  They are for reading and reviewing vocabulary of Earth's Surface.  If you do not have these copies, that is ok.  Maybe one of your friends can send you a photo copy of the papers.  BUT, you can also Open up the Earth's Surface book and read about our Earth's Surface  Think about what factors  make our Earth's Surface look like it does now  We will go over these factors when we return to school.

    Activities for week March 18-23 is read Ch. 6 & 7.  Read and answer the questions in the reading.
