    I hope all my reading students are doing well and taking time out of your week to do something for yourselves. I have included a couple of 

    ideas on my Reading Students Google Classroom page you can check out! Please reach out if you need any help with any other academic work 

    or just to check in and chat.

    • A Covid-19 Time Capsule is on the Google Classroom page for you to complete as something nonacademic to work on. Given the time we are all in, you should cature this moment in time, write about yourselves and be able to one day show it off to future generations.

    It was so wonderful to see some of my students at yesterdayś parade! I hope you are all still doing well, staying healthy and fitting in some reading during this time at home. Remember, I am available by email or Remind text at anytime if you need me.

    • I have uploaded 2 suggested Newsela articles to read as well as activities to complete on the Google Classroom page
    • I have also uploaded a suggested book ¨A Long Walk to Water¨ to read during this time at home. Included on the Google Classroom page is a PDF copy of the book, PDF book guide, a link to the Youtube audiobook and a link to a Google Doc discussion page for chapters. 
    • If you are in need of an outside book to read, please reach out so I can make individual suggestions. I will be uploading links onto the Google Classroom page to check out for suggestions.

    I hope all my Reading students are doing well, staying healthy and are working on their suggested assignments. I am available by email at anytime, just reach out. 

    Week #2 Info:

    • I have started a Distance Learning Reading Google Classroom for all of my reading students.
      • Please join with class code: x5ebjuw. 
    • I will be including suggested Newsela articles for you to read and suggestions to help you to continue to strengthen your reading skills while at home. 

    There are several students that should still be working on reading books for their Engish and/or Science classes, please continue to do the suggested reading and work provided for you. I am available by email to help and support you with any reading assignments and/or papers that you are working on. Please share your documents with me if you need help. 

     

    Additional Suggestions for Working on Reading Skills from Home:

    1. Read! Choose a book or graphic novel that interests you.
    2. Read to a younger sibling.
    3. Log onto Read Theory  and keep on  strengthening those comprehension skills! Please email me for your username and password.
    4. If any of my reading students needs a book downloaded onto their Voice Dream Reader audiobook accounts, please email me and I will add your request to a reading list so you can access it on your end. 

    Please reach out at anytime for any help, support or to just check in over these next several weeks.

    • Create a daily and weekly schedule 
    • Create a daily to-do list
    • Prioritize what assignments you need to complete first
      • Follow the ABC Priority List (link down below)
    • Break larger assignments/projects into smaller more managable steps
    • Create a daily or weekly goal for yourself
      • Break that goal down into steps so that you are more likely to accomplish it
