Welcome to our schools.  We have a busy year ahead of us.  Our new high school principal, Sean McNiff, joined us in July.  He will continue the initiative  in expanding Advanced Placement enrollments and raising achievement in all areas.   The Middle School will expand use of the Literacy Collaborative approach to reading and writing in all areas of the curriculum.  The school will also collaborate with Mt. Holyoke College and the Discovery Center in Connecticut to carry out a program on diversity and bullying.  Staff from the Lucy Calkins Writing Program at Columbia University will continue to work with elementary school teachers and classes on writing instruction.  Our K-12 Scheduling Committee will survey parents and teachers about possible changes in the starting times of our schools.  Our Race to the Top Committee will begin preparation for implementation of the State's new Standards for Evaluation of Teachers and Administrators.  You can find more detailed information about plans for the year at each school's home page.  We look forward to working with you.
